More Funding Needed for Project C.A.R.E.
A bill is circulating both the House of Representatives and Senate in NC titled Project Care for Dementia Funds (HB 145/ SB 190), which would allocate funds to this program primarily focused on providing resources for people with dementia and their caregivers.

Strengthen Disaster Planning for Long-Term Care Facilities
House Bill 143 / Senate Bill 193 ("Strengthen Disaster Planning / LTC Facilities") is currently being circulated in the General Assembly. If this bill passes through both legislative bodies and is signed into law by the Governor, it will direct the Division of Health Service Regulation, Dept. of Health and Human Services to review recommendations from the Disability and Elderly Emergency Management (DEEM) Task Force.

An Act to Make Changes to Drivers License Renewal Periods
The North Carolina General Assembly is currently considering making amendments to G.S.20-7 which would change driver's license renewal periods to prevent unsafe driving conditions and to ensure the safety of older drivers.
